May 2020 Book of the month: No Ballet shoes in Syria

Aya, an 11 year old girl from Syria, has just arrived in Britain with her mum and brother. They are seeking asylum from the war in Syria.

When the girl is invited to a local ballet school, the dance teacher sees her ability and trains her for dance scholarship. But at the same time, her family must battle to be able to stay in the UK and find Aya's father, who was separated from the rest of the family during the journey.

Will she be able to stay strong and fight for her right to stay?
